I also downgraded support because someone there should have told me, "Look in the MAPS tab, d******." An additional note - for reasons unclear, Windows decided to mark the MM folder where I store my maps to R/O - thank you ever so much for that, M$. I downgraded Ease and Support: I would have added the Viewing|Editing option to the FILE menu but that is just me. Once the Edit mode was active, all was good again. In all honesty, I don't use MAPS tab much as I usually only have one map open at a time. I don't recall ever being given that choice before. I found, under the Maps tab, two options, with Viewing selected. I did not explore FreePlane as thoroughly as I should have. My view is that you are offering a product that does not work in a common environment.

There WAS a windows update recently - and those folks have a terrible record for breaking existing applications. For all intents, I still cannot create and edit a new map or edit an existing map.
